Radio Club French Section

Welcome the IPA pages

November 20, 2011Posted by Chris F5VMR G4NAB French Section member Region Limousin.

About us. Since 1977 I have been a Radio Amateur in the UK, while a serving police officer in Hampshire. Initially as G8POB, in 1984 I gained a class A licence and began operating as G4NAB. The authorities of the time thought the callsign appropriate as I was a village policeman at the time with the address of the Police House. It was since this time that I made contact with the French IPA Radio club, callsign F6IPA operated at that time by Pierre Marge F6CXJ near Agen in departement of the Lot and Garonne. During the 1990's I became a proper french speaker, and as a family began to take our holidays in France. We met Pierre and his wife Michelle, thus beginning a long friendship. At that time we had no plans to live in France, but now we are in regular contact with him, and many others of the IPA French section Radio Club.

You can follow us on 80 metres, 3.620 Mhz LSB on most Saturday mornings at 07:30 UT (GMT), led now by Henri F6FLO operating F6IPA.
